W4CR Bexhill to Camber Challenge
http://www.windsurfermag.com/2011-bexhill2-camber-challenge-ian-kraft.html< br /> Great challenge for a great cause with a really good crowd.
Took me 2hrs 9mins according to the GPS track, covering 26 nautical miles with a maximum board speed of 26.8knots.
Weather was pretty variable, with a decent chunk being non-planing or at best marginal planing (suited the longboard crew) but the wind further our was a bit more favourable. Once the squall was spotted heading our way, I felt the wind increase and set about trying to outrun it .... Didn't outrun it but made decent progress and opted to head towards the bay to get some shelter from cliffs as squall came through. Toyed with sitting it out on beach but sea was calm inside as opposed to the boiling cauldron on a sea I windsurfed through heading in, so I carried on closer to shore on calmer waters. Home run into Camber didn't take long and comfort in familiar water encouraged higher speeds ;)
Great challenge and nice to have been on the right kit :)
